While I'm not one myself I know quite a few people whose dreams, imagination and intense perceptions are way more outrageous than the average kid's. Jung's dreams and imagination showed no sign of becoming more prosaic in adulthood and his skull was bony unless he was trepanned by an axe-wielding maniac in the Burgholzli and kept it a secret. Back in neolithic times they were doing the operation and though they used drills it looks like they used chisels as well.
