Imagine, one of rawat's devotees getting irritated by repetition. Now that is a surprise. Rawat, in his speeches, repeats the same phrase, over and over until one's eyes begin to cross at hearing it yet again. Does he assume if he says it often enough it will be true? May I sugest you write to him and point out his grammatical errors? You would be doing him a tremendous favor."But" is not a modifier, it is a conjunction. It modifies nothing in that sentence. A closer description of its usage in this case would be to indicate an exception. It is used to introduce something contrary to what was just said.
Why should my innocuous sentence so rile you? Is it because you have nothing real to discuss? So, once again, you go on the attack.
Oh, and stop with the slashes, okay? You're making yourself look ridiculous and making no sense in the bargain.
