If the guru was teaching a course in Peace Studies at the local community college, then Reporter is correct, the guru's private life would be nobody's business but his own. However, so long as it is claimed that the guru's knowledge, power, insight, understanding - whatever you want to call it - derives from an EXPERIENCE, then exhibit number one in assessing the validity of his teachings is his own life, since that is the most direct and important manifestation of the experience he is deriving his authority from.
So come on, Reporter, this is the biggy: Is Prem Rawat Singh merged in that experience (as he once said, "Yes, I am in permanent god-consciousness") or is he REALLY like the rest of us, and just talking about THAT experience?
