If the guru were teaching a philosophy, dogma or set of ideas, people could examine those ideas rationally for logical consistency, empirical validity, etc.  But when someone claims authority from experience, you cannot cut them open to objectively check if it is correct.  Instead, you are entitled to look at their life to see if it is consistent with the experience they claim.

 

Rawat understands this, even if Reporter doesn’t.  That is why he erected the X-rating system and lives behind a wall of secrecy, and that is why is has spent – and no doubt will continue to spend – more money on protecting his, um, .. privacy, that he will ever spend on so-called humanitarian initiatives.

 

The guru is a lush; ergo, he is a phony.  It really IS as simple as that.
