>Fortunately I am not in a religion and Maharaji's behaviour is a lot easier to understand. He's a human being.> Well I certainly agree with the notion that Maharaji/Prem is a human being. <The planes, affairs, cognac etc are irrelevant (except to those people who are obsessed with planes, affairs, cognac )> Then it is reasonable to ask why Rawat went to such lengths to hide his behavior: instituting an X-rated system so that only certain approved persons were allowed to know that he smoked, had an alcohol problem and indulged in illicit liaisons with some of his female follows. >Some humans have affairs, some humans do not, some humans drink alchohol, some eat betel nut.< True enough. But the lives of the great religious teachers have a deep significance to their adherents. They don’t just brush aside their actions with peevish little excuses like, “Well, he was only a kid” or “It was all his mother’s fault” >Maharaji's not flying around the world to encourage people to fly planes or have affairs, his object is to tell people that peace is within and that knowledge can help you experience it.< That may be his object but his personal life makes a mockery of any pretense he has to knowing about peace within. >Get over the idea that Maharaji has to behave like your concept and you'll get a much clearer perspective of Prem Pal Rawat. < But why should I get over it? The examples of the great masters have stood the test of time. What better example of peace and compassion could you give than the Buddha? Can you name anyone with the moral authority of Jesus who took to sins of the world on his shoulders? If the peace that you find within does not resonate with what these figures had to teach, then one has to question what kind of peace it is.
