In early days he would sometimes say accept K not me. He would sometimes talk of Guru Maharaj Ji in the 3rd person. In Peace Bomb he talks of the Lord in the 3rd person too.
Then at other times he would refer to himself as Guru Maharaj Ji.
The point being, it seemed to me, to cause a blur behind which he could retreat if necessary if he were challenged too directly by inconvenient people.
Thus, while everyone really knew he was saying I am God, would anyone in their right mind actually come out publicly and directly say I am God?
But all the dots joined very clearly into that statement.
Interestingly, one or two people have said to me that they never believed (or thought he might be) God in human form.
I would wonder with anyone like that if it isn't false memory or being clever after the event, as that basic belief, which still exists in many old premies, was the real power which held things together and gave them their momentum.
Without the notions of devotion and surrender, the whole game had little ongoing power and cement.
