It is to do with the possibility of things being in different states at the same time, but when actually observed the multi varient possibilities are no longer applicable.  A bit like meditation and the effects of disassociation on one's personality. Be in that 'place', but when you think about it and analyse it, it disappears in a puff of magical thinking.

Also have a google for 'superposition', lots of interesting stuff there but, imo, does not relate to the effects of meditation and group hysteria.  That is caused by a chemical change in the posterior superior parietal lobe - the 'god spot'.

There are various snakeoil salespeople (all this in my opinion only of course) who try and relate quantum mechanics and even stuff like string theory to the varieties of religious experience (or so called religious experiences). There people are, imo, simply jumping on a well used bandwagon to give unjustified credance to their new age garbage. They got confused between metaphor and reality.
