Thanks Jethro, Nik, Neville,Tempora… and Karen,

First let me say that I slept well last night and feel good today. I dreamed but I cannot remember the details… just the feeling of calm. That may be due to a good film I watched last night and some football results

Maybe you still accredit some type of power to Prem Rawat and feel afraid.
I know I certainly felt that for some time after exiting.

It IS scary to have more integrity and human values than those of The Lord-incarnate.

What a perverted Lord who created humans with values that HE clearly has no understanding of ?

Jethro

Though I hate to admit it Jethro, that could be true at some deep level.

Just beacuse you have had some disturbing dreams doesnt mean anything is 'wrong'. You may have caressed the bottom of the ocean and scooped up some sand which is temporarily blurring your vision.

Jethro

We spend a lot of time sleeping, and just a fraction of that in dream state. I feel that the sleeping and dreaming consciousness is as important as the waking and meditating concsciousness. Sides of the same coin…one does not exist without the other.

Dreams (IMO) are as powerful as we allow them to be. I'm sure that dreaming is a vital part of being human and that concious appreciation of dream content can be helpful - but being overly concerned with dreams can impair our non dreaming life

Nik

I agree … but I am concerned at this episode because it has been unusual.

Although I have no means to quantify it, I'm certain that for some of us at least, intense meditation, particularly when coupled with the cult environment, led to a 'thinning' of the barriers between what would otherwise be distinct psychological states. It leaves us open to 'exploit' our own suggestibility - giving value to experience without making critical judgement of that experience or looking for different and less dramatic perspectives about what goes on 'inside us'. Sometimes we really do have freaky dreams just because we ate cheese too late at night !

Nik

It`s not related to diet, but probably more to do with content of my waking consciousness.

Reading these posts has become thoroughly engaging and my brain is stirring in ways previously unknown.

This reminds me of an ongoing concern: how do we prevent DLM happening again? Put another way, what do we say to the young people we care about who we see being drawn into a cult?

Neville B

Yes, I`ve always been as honest as possible with my own daughter about my own involvement. She`s benefited from my mistakes.

I think the pervasive dark force is just your own fear, not any tangible entity threatening you because you no longer follow or have chosen to discuss Prem.

Tempora

I`m sure you are right Tempora. Thanks.
