Thank God, we have Nik and the MODs to keep us all in check... We might starting enjoying ourselves a little too much. (Oops, I think I may be breaking a forum rule by criticizing the MODs or speaking badly of Nik, but didn't he start it with me? 'Crass, Facile, Adolecent, Self Absorbed' - Thanks, Nik. From you, I'll take that as a high compliment. You know, Nik, I think that there's more to exiting Maharaji than just dry facts, figures, and spreadsheets. There's something called expression. I'm sure that you probably didn't appreciate the fictional Chronicles of the Red Nighty either. I guess we all have different needs and different tastes, huh? Democratic? I agree that the MODs need to be anonymous. While there are RULES, thank god we have RULES, there is a certain amount of arbitrary application of the rules and the MODs seem to answer to no one and instead blame a glitch in the software. Ok, that statement is an obvious exaggeration. Sorry. My real complaint was and is that the nameless MODs address me in private posts with my real name with a degree of familiarity when they themselves are nameless. I find that unacceptable and quite unsettling. It's really not a big thing, but like I said I find it very unsettling and patronizing. And certainly, I very doubt that it would be a big thing for the nameless MODs to simply address me as 'Sir' or 'Madam' or by my posting handle when they are acting as MOD. And, Nik, as far as 'whinging' goes, when did whining become forbidden? And as ex-premies aren't we really just whining, too? IMO, whining is democratic. Oh, I know that you'd prefer to keep a tight lid on all that goes down here, but then the forum wouldn't be the forum. How else can I make my displeasure known to the nameless and faceless MODs when they don't respond back in Private messages and they keep doing what I've asked them not to do? So, I brought my complaint up to the forum membership seeking assistance. And the issue can be discussed as any issue that people are concerned about like the deleting of objectionable posts. The forum membership can thumbs up or thumbs down me and my request to address an issue of concern for me that was not being resolved. That seems rather democratic to me. Nik, we've had our disagreements before and we'll have them again. And maybe what this does come down to is that I don't like your British stiff upper lip and polite in public face. In fact, I think there is a general difference and disagreement between the American style and the British style here and I'm not the first to mention it. In fact, a lot of people have left the forum because of that. A lot of people don't like the forum as much as they used to. Sure, it goes without saying, but I know you'll say it anyway that the forum is much better now. Well, that's true, but the biggest reason for that is that the hardcore premie trolls like catweasel are gone. Although, we still have Jonx. Nik, we don't have to like each other and that's fine with me. But, Nik, for you I'll stick around. It feels good to know that I'm so despised and irritating to you. (I'd better save this post, too.)
