The worst year of my life was unquestionably the one where I faced up to what I was witnessing in the behaviour of M and his family.

Specifically?

Here's your choice, Jonx: integrity--where you face facts--or a fool's paradise where you "deal" with doubts by pretending they're not there.

One more option: Face all the doubts head-on and weigh against what you've been shown. Of course that only works commensurate with the depth that you've been.
