I think you guys have hit on something here.  It does seem that part of Rawat's trip is an addiction to being admired and worshipped.  It's kind of a double-edged sword, I think.  On the one hand, he wants the attention and needs it to keep his gigantic ego intact.

On the other hand, I think he also really kind of hates the premies for doing it, for swooning at him.  He needs them to do it, but then he kind of puts them down much of the time, and certainly stays away from most of them, almost never associating with them on any kind of normal level.  Perhaps this is also so that he can maintain some kind of aura that helps keep the worship going.

I have heard stories of how abusive Rawat is to people who "do service" for him, like people who take care of all his expensive toys, like residences, planes and yachts.  I have heard he gets drunk and can be really abusive to them.

But then, it somebody was to confront Rawat, like Dettmers or Mishler, and if they no longer are willing to worship and be in awe of him, then they are OUT, OUT, OUT!!  I have heard that he won't even fire people like that, he relies on others to do it.  They are just cut off, like his ego cannot stand to deal with someone who has lost the belief that he is a divine being.
