I also agree with Ham that it's important that we acknowledge that some experiences of Light, Music, Word and Nectar are not eyeball pressure, tinitis, breath and snot. I also do not believe they are God; but as phenomena, they do exist. The meditative experiences have only a loose association with the techniques. There really is no such thing as "The Word, Light, Music, Nectar." Here's how I know:
My wife and I used some binaural audio tapes we purchased for meditation. They did absolutely nothing for me except bore me to tears. Patty, on the other hand, saw swirling colors, felt universal oneness, and got giddy with bliss.
Interestingly enough, she really had no desire to pursue the experience herself when I decide to hang up the earphones and chuck it.
