Your repeated attacks on the legal system are tiresome. Talk about scapegoating. The facts are that John betrayed Tom, yes, but, if you really want to look at it, Tom must have known all along he was assuming some risk of ultimately being detected as the source of the info, even if John had kept his word and not simply posted the docs wholesale. Tom felt pressure because of his wife (although, as he says I'm far too "black-and-white" to appreciate the subtle nature of that dynamic) and probably some justifiable pique at John for letting him down. So he signed the damn affidavit. He didn't have to. No one put a gun to his head. He just took the cowardly way out, that's all.
Scattini got away with what he did by exploiting human weakness. That's not the fault of the legal system.
