Hi Nya.  I feel very sad about John.  I can well imagine that being in the thick of all that legal mess would require a strength I know  I would'nt  have!  I don't know John personally, and as far as I know have never met him at an event, but I have the greatest admiration for his writing skills.  His exposes of the cult that he wrote a few years back were heartfelt and powerful, and certainly had an impact on me, although I cannot say that that alone was enough to make me decide to leave this all behind.  Somehow he crystallized a lot of the confusion, nevertheless, and he's obviously a very literary and a very sensitive caring person.  I hope he finds some peace for himself in all of this, and that friends are there for him, whatever their own allegiances.
