JHB-

I think that's a good question-how much does he run, and who else makes these decisions, or at least, comes up with possiblities that he then chooses from....

As I was leaving, around 5 years ago or so, I saw rawat one last time, and he mentioned a few things concerning this at a premie program, although I don't think he wanted it to lead to premies believing that he was not in command...but it did lead me to questioning some things...

1-He said that a year or two before that, he was advised to read some current spiritual books, in order to "stay up with" some current thinking in the field....He said he didn't read the books, and a year later, was very glad that he hadn't done so...he seemed to indicate that the books had "concepts" that were in vogue at one point, but now seemed "trippy" or something similar...

2-He indicated that aspirants would be able to receive knowledge WITHOUT dedicating themselves to k and himself FIRST. In other words, it would allow people to check it out first, try it, and then see how devoted they wanted to be to it after giving it a try. Rawat said that this was the way it was going to go, but that he disagreed with that policy. He said that, in that regard, he was still of the "old school", in that he thought that the commitment must be made first, then knowledge given, but that it was now going to go in this "new school" mode...

It made me wonder who the group was that was advising him...he definitely implied that choices were made that he disagreed with, but that he was "going along" with the decisions.....

Perhaps it could be from lawyers, who might feel that he needed to distance himself from any legal actions by demanding commitment from something untested....

Any thoughts?
