I agree with you about the timing and intent of the Elan Vital complaint.

There are alot of things wrong with the DMCA which overshadow this little abuse by EV. Since it was created to protect the interests of the music, film and publishing industries, it is more of an unforeseen side-effect. One could imagine that the same technique could be used right before an election to get an important partisan website off the air in the crucial moment. Maybe when this happens the legislators will finally take their heads out of the sand.

In addition to making our website concise and easy to understand, it was important for the authors that it be free of polemics and commentary. We wanted the story of Prem Rawat to stand for itself and to let the reader make their own judgements.

Apparently for Prem Rawat, who has gone to such great lengths to hide and revise his own history, to allow the simply truth about him to be told is something to be fought and surpressed with any means available, even when they involve prohibiting basic democratic principles of freedom of speech.

What kind of message of peace demands denial of basic freedoms?
