Hey SH
Your asked:
And I bet that there were some single moms because the husband and fathers were lured to live in Maharaji's ashrams. Or there were single moms because the husband ran off to do service for Maharaji. Can anyone verify that?
I certainly knew of several mothers whose husbands/partners decided to spend the majority of their time doing 'service' or in some cases left the relationship/marriage altogether and moved into an ashram. This deprived the children of a much needed father in their lives. Often the children were very young, when they needed such a 2 parent family most. The courage and strength of the single mothers was something I admired a lot. For many mothers this was mixed up with anger at having to fend totally by themselves, but also confusion as they either felt or were made to feel selfishness if they tried to stop the fathers doing service or moving into the ashram. Many perfectly sound relationships were wrecked by this very potent and negative dynamic. And in my opinion many children were harmed by having to live in a very dysfunctional environment. To be fair I also knew of relationships that did not break and the children were brought up perfectly ok. But still ...
