One is always responsible for one's deeds. We have freewill, we can act in the world, and we are responsible for what we do. But getting stuff wrong doesn't always mean bad karma; it's not always blameworthy. In the case of sincere students given false teachings, they nevertheless must take responsiblity for the false ideas they've been fed. That simply cannot be avoided. But the blameworthy party, the culpable party, is the false teacher. That seems clear enough, thanks. |
