I watch Missouri Breaks whenever it appears on UK TV.

I agree that this was the turning point when Brando turned to completely divvy roles. However, the remainder of the movie was pretty authentic to the period, I thought.

I would hope that this wasn't true of Harvey, who I have admired for donkeys (did you ever see The Duellists, for example?).

I'll watch Holy Smoke very carefully.

I reported here some time back on a very authentic cult deprogramming movie whose title I no longer remember. That was very good, I thought, and based on a true story.

The basic point made by the cult-deprogrammer in that film was that cults are always directed towards the glorification and centrality of the cult Leader, rather than towards God.

I guess that this must be a cardinal point in assessing whether you are in a cult or a religion, regardless of how one regards religion in general.
