I'm wondering if TPRF has stopped using PRNewswire for it's press releases. I wouldn't have found this had I not been looking at the Contact Info website "materials" page and clicked on "Every Breath Can Be Filled With Peace" under the "Magazine Reprints" section. Btw, ContactInfo has a new redesigned look. http://contactinfo.net/materials.cfm The ContactInfo Materials page brought me to TPRF's press room It appears this ceremony happened this week based upon the reference to the $150,000 check in February. Why does the TPRF website leave off the years on these releases? Seems confusing to me. Prem Rawat launches food aid initiative New Delhi, India, March 23 — In a ceremony that took place in Bantoli, a village in the state of Jharkand, Prem Rawat, also known as Maharaji, laid the cornerstone for the foundation of a facility that will bring free nutritious meals to children and adults in the area. Prem Rawat said, “I am very glad to see this project being launched. When I first came here, I saw that the people were very rich in heart, but lacked the most basic necessities. I felt it would be good if a facility were developed where food could be made available to the needy. It is with this intention that The Prem Rawat Foundation is launching this project, which will benefit the people of Bantoli and, in particular, the children.” (translated from Hindi) Linda Pascotto, President of The Prem Rawat Foundation, says, “These people need help, and Prem Rawat wants to help. The statistics are grim. Their annual per capita income averages US $65. Laborers go for several days without food, chewing a root plant which kills the appetite. 72% of the women suffer from chronic malnutrition, and 60% of the preschool children are underweight. Many suffer from terrible diseases caused by chronic undernourishment. Getting nutritious food will help them escape the cycle of diseases stemming from malnutrition so they can lead normal, healthy lives with the possibility of a bright future.” “The elders of the villages attended the cornerstone-laying ceremony and assured us of their support. This project will come to life with cooperation and support from the villagers and with full respect for their culture.” “This new initiative marks an intensification of Prem Rawat’s humanitarian activities. In February, at the Italian Senate, he offered a check for $150,000 to representatives of the World Food Programme, the United Nations’ food aid arm. This gift is now helping to provide food for survivors of the tsunami in Indonesia. The Foundation is also currently arranging food aid for the tsunami victims in Sri Lanka.” The Prem Rawat Foundation is a public, tax-exempt charitable foundation created by Prem Rawat to further his message of peace and to spearhead humanitarian initiatives. The Foundation is heading other humanitarian initiatives in India. There are regularly scheduled medical clinics where thousands of free consultations are given by optometrists and ophthalmologists to people in need.
