The fact that Pat Halley got attacked and almost killed is awful in itself, but what was almost worse was how the mindset of many of the premies was that Pat deserved it, and many had a kind of perverse satisfaction that some kind of "justice" had been given out.
Rawat was so blown up in our minds as the living god, the the idea that anybody would hit him with a pie was much more shocking than somebody almost getting killed in revenge for it.
And then of course, there are the facts that have come out since that the cult protected Fakiranand, hustled him out of the country, and then lied and said they didn't know where he was. True obstruction of justice.
