I have to admit that "deviancy amplication spiral" model cannot be applied for Jonestown. But the model itself sounds plausible, that is how conflicts often escalate.

What about Heaven's Gate?  What about Aum Shinrikyo?  What about Solar Temple?  The model can't be applied to any of them.  And what about Jonestown?  Despite your best effort to find some justification for Barker, there is no excuse for her putting Koresh on the same footing as the feds.
