This all reminds me of the fainting trend that came into vogue in the late seventies.  It seemed everyone and their brother took at shot at it. If fainting was a disease this was a rampant epidemic.  I know because I did "service" minstering to the fainters in the Fainters' Room.  But this is hardly appropriate behaviour these days, is it?  My guess is that the trend stopped as fast as it started.
