I'm doing some post tsunami analysis. There are a number of problems.

here's the on topic bit. (See post below). Do not believe any organisation that tells you they have made a difference on the ground in Sri Lanka. Sources there tell me that very very little aid has made it to the people who are in great need. They tell me that the aid is going to middle men and local vested interests NOT TO THE PEOPLE.

Off topic, please everybody continue to take an interest in the recovery from the tsunami in any little way you can. People are now coming out of shock and are confronted with the reality of the situation of loss. Loss of loved ones, loss of livlihoods, loss of property. Also this is exactly when the sharks start circling, organised crime, and the power hungry on the make try to take advantage of peoples gullibility in times of need. We all have first hand experience of how an organisation can take advantage and exploit people in a time of emotional vulnerability. If we westerners demand good clear post tsunami information it may make all the difference to those societies where people are trying to get money to rebuild their shelter, their home, and are at the mercy of middlemen. Please continue to take an interest.
