All right. I'll weigh in. If you all insist... In the U.S. any entity that is a corporation or institution is always used in the singular by it's name. Elan Vital is... Premies are... The Board of Directors is... General Electric is... It's employees are... etc. That's how its done in legal and business writing here. I've noticed that you British people always get this sooo wrong.
