Who'd have thought that the "special dispensation" to leave would in fact be a command from Maharaj to get the fuck out of his property (ie the ashrams)?

Legally it would have been a lot harder for M if premies resident in ashrams chose to assert their rights and become squatters.

As if that would have happened! They were still premies, and if the Lord said "scoot", they "scot"!

Legally, the chance to sue for misrepresentation re renunciate status went when the ashram premies upped and went. Voluntarily, and without much of a fuss.

But, who knows? Maybe one of these days there'll be a law that penalises con-artists who rip off people while pretending to be God incarnate.

Pity there wasn't a law like that around just about 2000 years ago - would have saved a lot of people from becoming victims to the authoritarian cult of christendom. (a personal view, you understand).
