PS - the last time such a flood occured, it was written up that those who perished deserved their "punishment". Noah & family being the only ones who were worthy to survive.

How true!  Indeed, come to think of it, the Old Testament God made a lot more sense in terms of explaining his work in the world.  He could be happy, he could be sad, he could do favours, he could punish like hell (?).  But this "new" lovey-dovey God doesn't make sense at all!
