Well, I should qualify that and say that from my in-city observation site, I didn't see a whole lot of geminid activity. It was a little disappointing, but my daughter sure got excited. She hasn't seen alot of meteors, due to her bedtime ritual, but I talked "mom" into letting her come out with me and spend some time observing.
THAT was much more exciting. I love talking astro-subjects with her. She's a mental vacuum cleaner when it comes to that subject. Her eyes lit up brighter than the meteors she was watching..... it was fun. She didn't get to see any bolides, though. I wish she had...... they are so memorable. I'd seen a couple of them in the early morning two days prior, so I thought this one might produce more, but it didn't. That's the way of that particular activity....... mostly what some would call "dud," to absolute ecstacy like the Leonid Meteor Storm of 1966 (I saw that...... right at the peak!) WOW!
Anyway, this is a bit off-topic, so I don't want to upset the FA's
