So here we have the event of the Suez canal closure explained to the general public in terms of lowest common denominator garbage.

65 years ago the expropriation of the canal by Nasser was seen as such an existential threat that GB, France, & Israel joined forces to take control of it physically from the Egyptians. It was a military & diplomatic fiasco which was the final nail in the coffin of the British Empire.

Any journalist at the time who'd mentioned dildos as being of importance in the analysis of what was happening, the implications & so on, would never have worked again, if indeed they'd survived the after work drinking session down the pub.

Times change of course, but the canal is still there & still important, only now the people who can keep it open are the Dutch salvage experts, & they are beyond eye wateringly expensive to hire. So who pays?

The Egyptian people, the European consumer, the Chinese manufacturers, the Japanese ship owners?

I feel sorry for the captain, who is beyond a doubt totally fucked with all the above on his case. So where are the journalists riding to his rescue?

Not there, are they, because they don't know how to do it anymore, & actually part of the reason is because they know their audience doesn't want to be bothered by anything that requires thinking.

Western society is in serious decline, & knowing about the supply of dildos won't change that.
