Maybe it was a Freudian slip but I forgot about the wheat problem, wheat was toxic. So rice was in and it was Asian, more spiritual, like. Hinduism and Buddhism in one grain.

There was another premie psychiatrist on the Gold Coast. My mental health social worker friends were not impressed by him but one of our premie friends went over the edge in a nervous breakdown I guess you'd call it and she moved in with us and 12 hours a day she went on and on and on, talking, talking, talking, round and round and round for weeks. Then he prescribed prozac. It's a miracle drug. Within days she started to come down and in a few weeks she could go back to work.

I'd always been of the "I'd rather die that take tranquilizers or anything similar" school but that really changed my mind. Fortunately, I've had no need.

That reminds me of another premie in the 90s. Still going strong today, had a relationship with the guru. Told me how wonderful life had been since he was on this drug for his bad back. As an ex-bricklayer I asked for the name as I'd probably need it one day. Prozac!
