I worked for Robert while he was writing his book and formulating his Kalenite colon cleanse. He was a premie in Oakland, and I lived in the Berkeley ashram.
He turned over ownership of the supplement company, Yerba Prima to ashram premies as a dedication to Prem. They  took the money and ran when the ashram closed a few years later.
Robert was killed in a traffic accident about that time. I remember him with fondness. People in the community treated him with contempt. He was one of the few African American premies. He was brilliant. He graduated from UC Berkeley and was offered a big position at IBM in the 1960's. Felt like she would be selling his soul. Became piano tuner for the Grateful Dead. Then he invented a meditation timer that he did quite well selling.

Back to the issue above, he ate a vegan diet. As his assistant I would buy his groceries and cooked for him. He considered writing a book about his "toxicless diet,"  but he said people weren't ready to hear it. Interestingly, I am basically on that diet now. After years as a meat eater, I am now vegan for health reasons.
