I flew to Australia via Air Olympus. At the time I had very few clothes and figured Greece would be cheaper to buy some clothes so I'd go shopping in the 12 hours between planes.
Flight delays messed up that plan and I arrived at Perth dressed in near rags with a carrier bag containing one shirt and one pair of underpants.
Immigration took me aside and I was getting a hard time till the woman noticed the book I had, Chatwin's Songlines. She was also halfway through it and we were both enjoying it and I was sent on my way as if I was returning home.
