There is more than one viewpoint with more than one emphasis. We're not here to toe the programmed viewpoint. I reflect my cult history and personality and others their's. Disagreement is not necessarily dismissive.
I can post that Rawatism was not as dangerous as Peoples Temple but that does not mean anyone's trauma or any child's trauma should be ignored. In the past the power of supposed mind control and deceitful recruitment was grossly overstated but DLM and premies were actually attempting to recruit and convince to the best of their ability using a combination of truth, exaggeration and lies and lies of omission.
Many (ex) premies believed absurd ideas about Guru Maharaj Ji's power, charisma and talents and if I state he was a mediocre asshole that doesn't mean he wasn't actively seeking to convince people he had such powers and did and does so for his own tawdry benefit.
Forty years ago I was convinced Rawatism was going nowhere but I still thought it was deceitful and disgraceful even though the premies I knew were decent people otherwise.
