The pie incident is one of the reasons I went to my first satsang. I saw it in the newspaper and it made it seem as if MJ was all forgiving of the incident and that made me wonder about him. I was a "searcher" and so I fell for the bullshit about him being god etc. At the time I started attending, Padarthanand told everyone that they had to have 30 satsang before they could ask for the special K, so I patiently waited until he returned from his touring around Australia and received the Emperor's new clothes on 26 Sept in 1973 - so my 50th birthday is right around the corner too.
Everything about the cult was a lie from day zero. Seeing that article in paper about the pie smack in the face was probably the worst piece of luck I ever had - it took decades away from my 'real' life. Wrong place, wrong time I guess.
