I mean, this is what we're talking about right?  Rawat told us to surrender to him and worship him and devote our lives to him and he calls himself "the Lord."  Has he changed his mind, and if so, why hasn't he bothered to explain the change?  Or, is it that this kind of talk is reserved for the "PWK-only" events?

Interested people, beware!

BTW -- I believe this clip used to be on the www.prem-rawat-maharaji.info site, but I can't find it there anymore.

worship_perfect_mast..>

Actually, this one is really worse.  "If you have a perfect master you can't do anything else but worship him every day."

Does Maharaji and the cult tell new people that at intro programs these days?  How about at the UN?

Hi Joe

This gets to me on two fronts:

Yes, he set himself up as the Lord of the Universe, the Satguru who can lead you from darkness to light etc. And he still is to most of the diehard committed premies, although they would not dream of using those names, probably even to themselves.

Rawat told us to surrender to him and worship him and devote our lives to him and he calls himself "the Lord." Has he changed his mind, and if so, why hasn't he bothered to explain the change?

Actually, for me, if he really had changed his mind, it would not bother me so much. If he said: "Listen everybody, I know we had the Satguru thing for x years, but that was all a Hindu trip that it took me a long time to get out of myself. But I am out of it now, and all I am is just an inspirational and motivational speaker" then to me that would be a little better.

I would still be mad at myself for swallowing it, and at him for propagating it, but hey, a mistake is a mistake, he admits it, so let's move on.

And that is the second thing that pisses me of: the fact that Maharaji and EV and his whole current following are denying it ever happened! Or that if it did, it was not Maharaji's fault, but us closet wannabe Hindus who forced it on him against his will.

Such bad public relations, apart from anything else, since those of us who were premies then know the reality. But then, when has Maharaji or any of his organisations been functional? Working for the Lord clashes head-on with functioning sensibly in this world.

It "works" in the sense that it gives current cult members a rationale --  and that's all they need usually -- adept as they are (and I also was) at supression of the obvious contradictions.

I understand that on the new premie forum (premie chat?), there is a bit of a war going on between the "true devotees" (some of East Indian extraction) who talk about the Perfect Master, surrender, and devotion, and are trying to save and set right the "thoroughly modern" premies who scoff at them and tell them they are stuck in the 70s.

It's a bizarre dichotomy and probably one of the reasons that up till now, most of the premie discussions on line have been COMPLETELY censored, like enjoyinglife.org, etc.  Because discussion leads to this kind of thing, the contradictions can't help but come out.  And of course, this is why satsang was banned by Rawat.  It exposes what people really believe, and he can't have that if he isn't going to get run out of Malibu.

But I agree with you, that the thoroughly modern premies still think Rawat's the Lord underneath, but they have learned how to avoid even disgussing that, and perhaps even go to the extent of denying that it ever occurred.

That's why there is so little ability to discuss anything with a premie.  It's okay up to a point, and then the gates close, the defenses go up, and all kinds of strange things can get said.

For example:  I understand that on another forum quotes from Rawat were posted that prove definiately that Rawat openly claimed to be "Lord of the Universe."  Well, a premie who had once denied Rawat ever claimed the title read this and then slunk into the twilight zone and said, well, what does "Lord of the Universe mean?" Crazy.

This is apparently the same premie who said that it didn't matter that Rawat claimed to be the "incarnation of God" because we ALL are incarnations of God.  Yeah, right.... I'm so glad that's settled.

You can read all this on the "one reality" website, which, in my opinion, is the website most detrimental to Rawat and his quest to be a leader of peace, on the entire internet.  Ex-premies should talk up that site.

But I think these contradictions are why most premies never talk about any of this.  Most premies have leared the hard way that they end up sounding like idiots if they do.  So, they play the Christian martyr routine, and realize that the Perfect Master is always opposed, and they just need to trust and have faith.
