Universities in India Offer Course Based on Prem Rawat's Teachings

KOLKATA, India, May 17 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The University of
Calcutta has been offering a course on peace within, based on video
presentations by Prem Rawat, known also by the honorary title of Maharaji.
Several thousand students have taken this course over the last seven
months.
The course, called "Performances, the Self-Discovery Program," is aimed
at "exposing college students to some of the best contemporary knowledge in
self- discovery." Performances includes videos of Prem Rawat speaking at
leading universities around the world, including Harvard University in
Cambridge, the University of California in Berkeley, Griffith University in
Australia, and the India Institute of Technology in New Delhi.
The course has already been adopted by 25 other schools and colleges in
India. The new curriculum was initiated through a collaboration between a
group of 50 students in Kolkata who were familiar with Prem Rawat's
teachings and university staff.
In support of this program, Prem Rawat spoke at an event with nearly
2,500 students in Kolkata on April 14, while approximately 400,000 people
throughout India watched the address and his lively question-and-answer
session with the students via a live satellite broadcast.
Feedback from students in Kolkata was enthusiastic. For Mukul Jaiswal,
"We liked all four sessions, and we are very thankful for the edifying
words of Prem Rawat."
Ravi Singh said, "It was very good! Peace is one of the most incredible
powers that we have and can feel. Peace is a very wonderful way to find
success in life."
"Hearing the meaningful words of Prem Rawat is a brilliant experience,
giving me knowledge about peace, myself, and the internal voice of the
heart," said Amarnath Basak.
"I have written many essays on peace," Mukund Kanodia said, "but I
never knew what actual peace was until I saw the presentation."
For Ankit Lohia, "Prem Rawat spoke about how to attain peace. Peace
comes from within the heart. It is not something man-made. It is natural
and required in life. Peace and truth are the most important realities that
everyone should discover in order to make their life a success."
