I'm sure this has already been posted but I can't find it - anyway these encomiums are from the ever wonderful pwkindia - http://pwkindia.bravejournal.com/ Miami SupriceLikely you have heard but M surprised a gathering of 300 people that had gathered for a resource meeting with Yoram and RJ here in Miami Beach. We were/are in shock still. Just as Becky Neiburger (Colin's wife) got up to do the MC thing and faced the audience and got out about 5 words, M walked in the door behind her. The audience gasped and screamed as the impossible yet perpetual hope became reality. Everyone assumed he was still in India much less choosing to come to a local event in Miami after traveling half way around the world. He took immediately to the stage and started off by noting that these guys, Yoram and RJ, were going to put up statistics so he brought some statistics too which he took outfrom his jacket pocket and proceeded to give us the numbers run down of his India trip. I should mention he was dressed impeccably in a dark suit. He also mentioned that he had only been in the country for a few hours! The only complete quote I can remember: "Without the master confusion does not go away." He spoke about a sandwich saying it's what's between the bread, not the space above or below that count. "This life is about what you've got in hand." He spoke for about 45 minutes leaving the audience in joy and shock. To my knowledge there were no videos although there may be audio recorded from the audience. Chasm? Brad An event with Yoram Weis and Raja Ji was scheduled tonight (7 pm) at the Sheraton Bal Harbor in North Miami Beach. The MC started to introduce the event, then...voila...Maharaji showed up amidst "oh my god"s (the When Raja Ji spoke after a 15-minute break, he said that he's been living in Miami for over 18 years and that he has tried to invite Maharaji to speak at one of these local events, but he never obliged. This time, security asked him if they should be ready just in case, and Raja Ji told them "nah, he won't be attending this event"...so he said
Sheraton Bal Harbor, Miami, Sunday night, April 29th, at the Crystal Room. The Miami crowd pours slowly into the venue. People greeting each other, chatting, checking out the materials on the tables, no one has any idea what is about to unfold. A Resources and Propagation meeting is scheduled for 7:00 pm with Raja Ji and Yoram and couple of new DVDs. At 7:10 pm Becky, the MC, gets up and opens the event with a few words of appreciation being a part of this event, when all of a sudden the crowd roars with joy, people jump up and down, the audience goes wild. Bewildered by the reaction Becky glances back curiously, only to join the surprise of Maharaji opening the door behind her, walking into the hall with a huge smile all over his face. Apparently he was standing behind the door waiting for the audience to come in. People are so blown out, no one knows neither what to do nor how to contain their joy. In the midst of the cheers Raja Ji manages to place the mich on the stage and Maharaji walks up and begins to speak. At that point only about half of the audience is already there (the others would keep pouring in while he speaks), but the presence of their excitement is much larger than the hall. Maharaji begins by saying “you probably thought I was still in India, but here I am. I’ve only been here a few hours but wanted to come a speak to you”. (You can cut the gratitude in the air with a knife). “You came here to hear some statistics, so I thought I’ll give you some of my own statistics from India: I have just completed 26 events in 40 days, attended by 950,000 people, with additional 5 live broadcasts viewed by 2.25 million people. So total 3.2 million people heard my message in a tour of 3,555 nautical miles. Each month in India there are 35,000 new aspirants and they keep on coming…” (you can see his excitement and pride in this growth, very much shared by everyone there, who are also amazed by his endless efforts and admirable dedication). He talked about his incredible event in Calcutta (name recently changed to Kolkata, now that the Indians finally realized that the British actually left India…). That event was with a little over 2,000 young people, who engaged him in one of the most interesting interaction, some of the question wild but extremely exciting. He was scheduled to speak for less than an hour and ended up with 1 hour and 40 minutes. He described how a group of young pwk put together a full curriculum on the subject “Peace is Possible”, and approached the University offering a course on Campus consisting of several DVDs at the end of which the students will receive a certificate of completion. Those students were there, and he had so much fun with them. All the while Maharaji goes on speaking, and people are still arriving to the event, filling up the hall just over its capacity of 250 seats. People described later their shock as they opened the door and to their amazement discovered Maharaji on stage speaking… He goes on quoting Kabir about the fish in the water who is still thirsty, about the Musk deer who hunts his own scent, about the bee who is enchanted by the scent of the lotus in the lake… This intensity of thirst can only be fulfilled by the Master who shows you what you have inside. Otherwise you roam around forever. He talks about the sweet reality that we all miss out on. He challenges us to see ourselves with our own eyes, instead of other people’s eyes. To see what we really are and how beautiful we are through our own experience, not accepting other people’s views and judgments. We may even choose to judge ourselves, but it’s only our fault, our choice. If we could only see what we truly are, it would change our entire perspective. What we focus so much on is not going to last, what we are inside is indeed infinite. “Imagine if God came and forced your mouth open, placed the most delicious chocolate in your mouth, a divine chocolate, that just melts in your mouth… What would be your reaction? Most people would go on asking for another piece, perhaps for their wife, or husband, a brother or their child. We are so programmed to ask for more. But why not simply be content with what we already received? Not what we have accomplished in our lives, but what we are given within each breath. We need to learn the art of being content. If you cannot be content with one breath, you have not yet begun living…” That sentence keeps ringing in my ears, along with him saying that every moment is a new beginning, another opportunity to learn even more. I am staring at his gorgeous face, the eyes I have grown to love dearer than anything, the kindness around his mouth as he speaks beauty into my heart, and I remember his face like that from years ago, and every time our eyes met ever since. By then my heart is so full that his words end up floating on the ocean of gratitude between us. I know I am not alone in this, you can sense the gratitude in the air as the air itself. He goes on to talk about destiny. He challenges all who claim that everything is predestined, pre-written. If that was the case then why do they pray? If it’s not going to change anything, since it’s all pre-destined, then why pray? And why react if your purse gets stolen, it was all meant to be. Why worry if your plane is going to crush, it’s all predestined. And why even make the effort to get to your flight, if you are supposed to fly it would happen anyway… He also talks about the events to come: “soon the events in North America are going to begin” (you can feel he has just landed on the continent, from a most extensive tour, and it is only a pause to breathe, before he goes at it again). He goes on to describe how now we are approaching the event planning differently. How before it used to be just scheduling a date and then a starting time, and that was it. Now the entire event is planned around a meaningful schedule of every hour of it. This would be more informative and richer in content for everybody. Close to 8:00 pm Maharaji looks at his watch, noting he intended to speak only for halfan hour (it is near 50 minutes by then), and wishes for everyone a beautiful and enjoyable life. Under a shower of thank you’s from the 250 people rising up with respect, gratitude and love, he walks off the stage through that little door, leaving behind an open future, from here to the next time. Somewhere in this country, sometime soon. After the short break, what Raja Ji and me have to share and the closing video are a sincere frame and a practical nail on the wall for the most beautiful painting Maharaji has just created. Everybody shares the joy, the uncontainable excitement, the gratitude. There is no lack of generosity in the hearts of these people who walk out of the hall to respond and to proceed with their individual and unique expression, their part in this true story of kindness, their giving.
