Here's a closer look at Prem Rawat's words. You be the judge but please really think about it.

It's funny to think you'd get a little note like this from the Lord after you have just received the Knowledge of all knowledges.
I would expect it to be at least grammatically correct. 'Knowledge is its antidote'.
Lord, I think you need an apostrophe in there!
What a pedant I have become.
|
|
|
And there is no worse pedant than a wrong one! Luv Candy
|
|
|
Candy,
'I think you need an apostrophe' is what I put - so not quite wrong!
'Knowledge is the mind's antidote'
the need for a apostrphe is clear there
'Knowledge is its antidote'
and no apostrophe there?
Should it not be
'Knowledge is its' antidote'?
I stand ready with my dunce's cap.
And of course, I am only criticising the grammar here - the meaning is far more insidious!
|
|
|
it's quite tricky. Only apostrophied when 'it is' is shortened to it's. mind's antitdote or its antidote (ie mind) no need for apostrophe as 'its' is a possesive thing, meaning 'of it'. Klar? So goomrodgie is most correct. The antitdote to mind - is mind (thinking, consciousness) a poison then, something evil you cannot trust - it will lead you up dark alleys. Is he trying to convince people they are mentally ill or at least suffering mental delusion - only the nollidge can lead you out of this forest. That could be serious mindfuck for vulnerable people. I wonder if I'm normal? Z
|
|
|
OK, got it with the apostrophes.
Maybe I should have stuck to the more obvious point, that mind is not a toxin that needs an antidote. That's just ludicrous ( but I still sat there and listened to it ). Someone should have handed me the dunce's cap then.

It means what I thought it meant. Each and every of his statements defining wrongly thoughts is definitely a MINDFUCK trick to keep the public confused.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mindfuck A mindfuck is a slang term which describes a work that uses literary devices such as nonlinear storytelling and plot twists in order to present convoluted, yet not conflicting, themes. A creation is usually considered a mindfuck when a casual observer is not able to discern the true meaning of a work without making a serious attempt to unravel the themes presented or when the plot is incredibly difficult to follow. Special examples of mindfucks involve a single plot twist which completely changes the viewer's understanding of the events in a film or novel as well as the ideas it presents. Zelator, being human makes you normal,so you are normal, unlike to those false gods going around lying to innocent decent people. The false prophet have ceased to be human having become a walking zomby body, acting just like a voracious praying animal, looking for a small animal to feed from. We were normal and he told us we were sick and that he needed "him", his sick teachings. THAT is a total mindfuck! I enjoy your posts Zelator. Thanks! I thank each and everyone who has/does post here helping me find real freedom! To premies: Doubt with all your heart and fly free! If needed, seek professional help. It gets better; the pieces get glued by the infinite grace of the real GOD almighty. In HIM one finds true healing. The truth will make you free. Gotto come back to work to continue discovering how the mindfuck occurred so I can tell the world the one prophesing to be Lord is as fake as a wooden teeth.

Right on Candy!Prem Rawat is a fool, a pedant who has earned too many to name here -all negative- adjectives to describe his personality. These are what makes him a very, very bad teacher. He is absolutely toxic, poison to anyone who gets involved with him. He destroys people's health. All human beings to reach their whole potential need the essentials Rawat cannot provide with his 100% faulty teachings.
Hate your mind, control your thoughts, do not listen to them as Guru Charandand told me personally a few months before I exited the cult. He said, "Do not fight the mind, simply avoid listening to your thoughts." The one considered as a great realized soul, sent to our communities to "clarify" our troubles, to assist us in our spiritual growth. The mind antidote...THE MIND POISON! We need a healthy mind! I personally never met ANY person following "him" HEALTHY, NOT ONE SINGLE ONE, NOT ONE. He is a liar and the fate he created for himself is so very obvious when stepping out of his little contraint world he calls whatever these days. Is the same poison changing names. The enemy came to lie, kill and destroy.
A healthy mind, a healthy body follows, then a healthy Spirit is what makes a human being whole, healthy. God makes no mistakes, is the nature of health principles. The guru is poison, venom. Elan Vital=Prem Rawat/Maharaj Ji, Maharaji, Lord of the Universe, Holy Name, LORD wanna be, all he accomplished was to lie, to kill and destroy. He is an enemy of all societies. We were NOT allowed to talk at the end of 1999!!!!! I have his videos saying all kind of unhealthy stuff. How is he going to attempt to hide his own words coming out of his mouth? Is he going to say "the devil made me do it?" He sickens minds. He pushed people to suicide. He is toxic, he is BAD. "The enemy came to lie, to kill and destroy" all that was made good.... But God/love, truth ALWAYS WINS. God is head and evil tail. Un-fallible! a PEDANT FOOL, that is all what Rawat is. I cannot call him Sir or Mr. He falls down as days go by. He deserves NO respect. -------------------------------------------------------- PREM, CONFESS to God and then APPOLOGIZE. That is the ONLY way Prem, the only way. You are getting in deeper and deeper dangerous waters. I personally want a written apology; you know where to find me. Your victim George knows where to find me. What you did lately is too much. A campaign to continue abusing us? You did it in secret with your subscription videos and now, cornered, you write a book full of lies? You do not have my permission Prem. Repent and apologize to all those who you hurt and damage. Respect is earned reminded me my son not long ago and you Prem, so far deserve none. And you are an American, I remind you and I ilive in the same land. PERFECT. I give glory to GOD almighty for his merciful compassion, all his loving care, his fairness and his DIVINE SWORD of TRUTH that have restored me. Nothing goes under the rug! Free your premies, free George, as it needs to be. COURAGE IS A VIRTUE
Silvia, remembering the 70's mind endoctrination, sacrifices, loses, dirty feet kissing and holy breath smelling like alcohol. Lila? Yeah, right!

I used to really love that line of thinking when I was a devotee. Its the one linguistic backflip that reallyworks for the devotee in closing the gap in the rawat dualism.
I don't think that Rawat has ever disavowed his claim of actually "being knowledge". I'm sure he doesn't need to. For one reason, the premie mind isn't schooled enough in public thinking to notice the implcations for it of Rawat's claim. And for another if prembo just lets the idea just hang in the air without either mentioning it or disavowing it, the devoted mind will inevitably stumble across "rawat-is-knowledge" and cling to it privately for survival, "as of his own"!
Premies awake. The dice are loaded, the house wins every time, I fought the law and the law won etc etc.
You know in a funny sort of way Rawatism is a damn clever system. It works if you want it to, and thats all its insouciant leader ever claims. How do you spell insouciant?

'How do you spell insouciant?'
Just like that.
But I wouldn't care if I was a little more that way myself!

You know in a funny sort of way Rawatism is a damn clever system. It works if you want it to, and thats all its insouciant leader ever claims. So true, and yet that is also true of virtually every cult, and pretty much every "faith-based" belief system. One of the articles of faith, is that it works. Circular doesn't even begin to describe this inane bullshit.
|
|
|
Joe,Do you consider ANY faith as beneficial or are you an atheist?
|
|
|
Let's just say I am a member of the reality-based community instead of the faith-based community. Also, there is a matter of degree when it comes to faith. Blind faith is damaging, and that's what people have in Rawat, until they don't have it anymore, and then you see the reality that Rawat is a two-bit charlatan.

What a great ruse. He's here, he's there, he's everwhere-and by inference so must we all be. Rawat's religion beats Jesus's hands down in the figurehead dept. (Unless you include the legendary "holy spirit manoevre" Rawat's double whammy is hard to top. For the spiritual doubts of hard-headed realists there is the possibility of the Master's non-physical universality, and for the more airy of us in our moments of self-loss, there is the grounding certainty of that Mr.Captain Rawat of Malibu and his mighty airooplanes. And if you don't know which camp your in ("Camp? what camp? What debate?" or are just a bit shifty, you can simply smile and bounce around between both options, depending what's coming at you at the time. I can see the importance in all of this of someone somwhere doing some public "good works". I mean, if we're going to stand up there among all those other proper, grown-up religions with their complicated ethics 'n stuff, we have to do "good works" don't we? Hooray for the mind Love Bryn

How one gets/develop one is what makes THE difference.
CHEERS TO GREAT MINDS! Silvia, enjoying being "like" Jesus in every way possible, and still growing. Very rewarding.
Blessings to you.

So, that is what happened to me: I lost my mind! Someone HAS to make a movie about this guy. It would make Peter Sellers look serious, if one forgets all the mental pain he inflicted upon many. It could be the funniest movie of the year. Sellers'"quotes": http://www.petersellers.com/about/quotes.htm "If you ask me to play myself, I will not know what to do. I do not know who or what I am."
"There used to be a me behind the mask, but I had it surgically removed."
"To see me as a person on screen would be one of the dullest experiences you could ever wish to experience."
"I'm a classic example of all humorists - only funny when I'm working."
"Women are more difficult to handle than men. It's their minds."
"I writhe (SIC) myself on the screen. I'm such a dreadfully clumsy hulking image. I say to myself, 'Why doesn't he get off? Why doesn't he get off?' I mean, I look like such an idiot. Some fat awkward thing dredged up from some third-rate drama company. I must stop thinking about it, otherwise I shan't be able to go on working."
"I feel ghostly unreal until I become somebody else again on the screen"
"Conversation like television set on honeymoon...unnecessary."
"Finally, in conclusion, let me say just this."

From what I understand: Bill Patterson left the cult years ago, denounced Maharaji. I think he worked with kids in some kind of program, and he was injured and became disabled. Kathy Sullivan is an ex-premie and runs a bookmobile in LA. Arthur Brigham was living in Australia, or someplace in Southeast Asia, pretty much out of the cult from what I understand. Last I heard, Ira Woods was still in the cult hook, line and sinker.

I was at my local library yesterday and asked the librarian if they have any books by Andrea Cagan. She told me that she never heard of Andrea Cagan. I experienced an inner chuckle.

I experienced an inner chuckle.
That's good,Cynthia.
So, the librarian had never heard of the lie-ographer, Andrea Cagan? Interesting. Apparently they don't have her lie-ographies on the shelf.
|
|
|
Lie-ography. I like it. Hi Angela, Glad you liked my inner chuckle. Yes, I was impressed that my librarian didn't know Cagan. And she's a well-educated, credentialed librarian, albeit in a small-town.
|
|
|
Our entire metro area library system only list 6 books, and even of those she is not listed as the author, but only "with Andrea Cagan". I think my favorite must be: THE LOVED DOG : The Gentle Way to Teach Good Canine Manners
Someone should send Prem Rawat a copy so he can begin to learn how to treat his premies.
|
|
|
I think my favorite must be: THE LOVED DOG : The Gentle Way to Teach Good Canine Manners Rawat does have a dog and they are inseparable, rumor has it. I guess he relates to dogs better than people, because his social skills are quite bad. How has everything been for you since you last posted a while ago, Angela? No more invasions in your life from Elan Vital, I hope.

Hello Cynthia. Yes, it's been about 11 months since I posted, because it was our Fifth Wedding Anniversary that Prem Rawat, Elan Vital and their mindless minions destroyed. There have been no invasions of my personal life by them lately. Perhaps they know I won't sit quietly and let them bully me. Also, I am self-employed, so there is no employer they can try and intimidate me through. All this does not mean they won't try their gestapo secret police tactics again, but so far, they have not. Thank you for asking! I've been quiet for almost a year, but have decided not to remain silent any longer. I love my husband too much to stay silent. Now I must speak, if not to him, than possibly to others who may be able to listen.

Hi Cynthia,I live in a very 'new agey' area.
I had a look around the many second hand book shops and they are full of these types of books, on Sai Baba, Osho,
god-this and god-that etc. These books can hardly been given away(except to failed crammy stars). Recently, a rawatt-dvd was given away free(woo hoo) in a spiritual magazine and I overheard some locals laughing their heads off when they realised that rawatt was GMJ trying to reinvent himself.
He is the antithesis of that which he presents himself as. Hope all is well with you, Jethro
|
|
|
Jethro,
Is this the same spiritual magazine? Available in more places than just Totnes?
I picked up a copy. You can get energy eggs, which absorb all the harmful energy coming out of your computer.
I looked at the DVD, briefly. First I have seen of Rawat in years. Going on about some thirst I don't have, and about how he could solve it. And there were some people I know saying how peaceful practising knowledge had made them, but I know these people pretty well, have done for decades, even shared flats and so on.... they do not have peaceful lives!
Glad to be out of it.

"Is this the same spiritual magazine? Available in more places than just Totnes?"
Undoubtedly it is the same, although I didn't read the magazine.I just read the link and saw this:
"The cover DVD features excerpts from the AWARD WINNING(LOL) TV channel 'Words of Peace'...."
Was a load of bolloxology, the open access channel hardly ever has any programs except occassional films from the 40s. Dirk Bogart would be embarrased :>). People rent time on that channel. I am surprised he has gotten so cheap, but there again maybe he always was.
"Glad to be out of it."
Me too. all the best Jethro PS I visited Totnes last year and intend to visit again this summer. Maybe we can meet up?

'Maybe we can meet up?'
Most welcome! You can email me through admin.
It is cheap this magazine isn't it?
The magazine seems to be blatantly aimed at people who will believe anything at all. Every kind of alternative anything is listed there - if you wanted to sell anything of real value, you wouldn't want it associated with such dross.

"Most welcome! You can email me through admin." I'll get in contact before I come over."It is cheap this magazine isn't it?"
I don't know if the magazine costs anything, but either way it is cheap for priniting such perniceous poppycock. "The magazine seems to be blatantly aimed at people who will believe anything at all. Every kind of alternative anything is listed there - if you wanted to sell anything of real value, you wouldn't want it associated with such dross." Well here in Glastonbury potential devotees of anything are many. Religiosity is always a good seller.

It's "hook, line and sucker."

I exchanged some emails with Arthur in 2002 and at that time he still enjoyed the meditation techniques, and had a positive view of Rawat, even though he was, and had been, aware of Rawat's non-public lifestyle. The fact that this was deliberately hidden from most premies didn't seem important to him.Rereading his emails reminded me of Rennie Davis saying he no longer believes Rawat is the Lord but his time with Rawat was positive.
