There's so much competition for gurus and new age snake oil salespeople in California and everywhere, really. People are lazy. They want instant happiness and are willing to believe anyone who promises it to them. Look what Jesus and Joseph Smith have done for people. The new rage for new age woowoo things in the U.S. is "The Secret." The law of the power of attraction and positive thinking. Oprah's been hawking it, Larry King spent a whole hour on it last night...so so there you go. http://www.thesecret.tv/home.html

Ah, the Secret. Ask-Believe-Receive. Positive thought - positive, as in wishful thinking. A bit like Cosmic Ordering.
I wish people would accept the possibilty that the universe doesn't revolve around them...

There is a way to view your image even although it is only a red cross - how do you do it again? z
|
|
|
Sorry Z, it wasn't an image - I tried to add a link to the end of my post, and must have put the url into the image text field instead of the link field.
Now corrected.
|
|
|
I can still see it. What Secret lies behind the mysterious red cross? Are you the 1?
|
|
|
I couldn't get rid of it. Maybe I am the One. Maybe you should send me money. Or maybe to should read the signs more literally, and send money to the Red Cross?

What are you implying with "Look what Jesus did for people" according to your knowledge in the subject andwhy compare him with a false prophet as Smith?
What do you know about Christianity? Have you ever taken Bible study classes, or you just believe anything that you read in any book? Will a person having a Theology doctorate know more? Joseph Smith is acknowledged by the Moonies as a prophet, which he is not, unlike Jesus, who was sent by God, according to the Bible citing the many accounts of those who where there, pointing to the importance of faith and following the first Commandment "love God with all your heart". If a person believes it or not is a different subject. What Jesus did for me is nothing you can understand because I know your stance on GOD's subject, you are a non-believer and even that is right that there are many strange churches, Christianity stands for love, truth, and GOD, that power that created all, invisible and untouchable to many except for those who investigate faith and found satisfying answers. All what JESUS did was good and transformed/s lives since then in a very positive way. Tolerance? I find your generalization to be wrong. Just because some intellectuals deny importance in Jesus teachings trying to decode FAITH with their intellect and failing doesn't mean Jesus teachings are bad, as it seem you are implying; you have made fun of me for being a believer. I find your words offensive, because you may have noticed that I began posting again. A believer said: Even if God did not existed I would invent" Him, because having faith makes me a much better and happier person. Silvia, not a stinger, just a believer and friend of God.

I appreciate your concern about my godlessness, Silvia, but my comment wasn't directed to you at all, and it had nothing to do with the fact you're posting here again. I think it's best if you and I don't discuss anything here with each other, especially your religion, which is off topic here anyway. That said, I won't be censoring myself from using words like "Jesus" because you're too sensitive about the subject. Shit, you're back for a couple of days and you're attacking me already. You have some nerve. Cynthia

Joseph Smith has nothing to do with the Moonies, he is the prophet of the Mormons or Latter Day Saints. The "Moonies" believe in the Reverend Moon, a Korean incarnation of God.
So if you're going to lecture us about your religion, please get your facts right about the religions you are condemning. And while I think Joseph Smith was a total loonie (not moonie) what have you achieved through your faith in Jesus that can compare with what the Mormons have achieved?

Hi Silvia - i remember you from the time ,when i first was leaving the cult , at that time , for months , i was reading every post on forum 5 - hey it was great , foundly i remember both you and Cynthia ,amongst others . So , you have moved on from Prem Rawat towards Jesus ? Please explain how ? And please explain why you think anyone should respect Jesus . Best Poul

Hi,I think it would be fair to ask before I answer your questions regarding my faith in Jesus' teachings why is it that you want to know? If you are asking to begin a discussion in the subject, I cannot do that. One, I do not have the free time it would take to do that. Two, I am not open to talk about my faith in a forum such as this simply because I have been insulted, called names, ridiculed, and also kicked off of this forum not long ago and do not wish to be kicked off again. I'm known around here by those who met me in person and by those who knew my past handles for having a "inconvenient" opened mouth and having learned from a few mistakes I made, I wish to remain as "chilled" as possible to avoid provoking my own emotions; not because I am afraid of Prem Rawat (I am not) but because certain things are private and not of nobody's bussiness, except to those who I have learned to respect and love in this forum. They know me better and know where I stand. I was dead spiritually and did not know how to put the pieces of my broken heart together. I can say that. Why I believe in Jesus teachings? There, your answer to my question above becomes important if I am to respond to it. My rediscovered faith (BTW, I was shown a picture of Jesus after exiting the 13 hours long knowledge session as to say Maharaj Ji is the Lord) and having been since birth a baptized Christian led me back to Jesus Gospel BECAUSE I ALWAYS LOVED JESUS. My renewed faith and brought the peace I needed. My heart is healing, every day and my life is more than, okay: It is amazing! Since Elan Vital= Maharaji/Prem Rawat know very well who I am, I would like to say this here, since I know they monitor this forum carefully. I am not a hateful person, even if at some point I enjoyed saying to him here that I hated him. The archives have many of my posts. I hate evil with all my heart; for that, I stand. However, hate is a toxic sick emotion and therapy helped me deal with that. He is still accountable for all the pain he caused so many. I left Rawat behind at the end of 1999 after contemplating since day one that he was just a false prophet. I do not hate him. I can say I have posted under many handles, hiding my identity when I was trying to protect my then young son and his father's sanity. SB; Truth; my real name, and many others. I NEVER avoided using my real name because I am afraid of Rawat's lawyers. Never, and never will. But you guru Rawat, have no RIGHT to call me a hate group member and for that, you are also accountable and guilty as charged and I hope God continues to make it obvious to the world you are fake and mean. I do not hate Rawat at all but I found him accountable for all the years of my life I was absent TO MY SELF, MY FAMILY, MY SON and to my ex-husband to whom I still love but he also, is "missing in action", apparently still believing Prem Rawat is the Lord. I wish him freedom. I am a free person. I find the name of this site aproppiated: The Keys to freedom. Believing in God again have made such a positive difference in all areas of my life, in such a short time, that I have nothing more to say that I "blame" God for my growth and His endless mercy He has shown me each day since I got kicked off the forum. Too may "coincidences" to think it was just chance. I hope that help. I don't remember much of the first years of exiting the cult, too many posters to remember and if we communicated here, I apologize for not remembering you. I hope you are doing well. Best regards, Silvia

But I suspect you would not wish to!

Your sentence is short and I cannot read minds. Is your post and the smile because you know from past encounters how intellectuals jump at those of us who BELIEVE in GOD and if I post there I would get skinned off as in the past? Yeah. I'm smiling too right now, thinking in what that would be. Many SAY they have tolerance and know THEY SHOULD BE HAPPY for the happiness of others but some people cannot do that. They prefer to throw books at you. I have MY book. I will spare my self from that. But be fair too. I spoke LIGHTLY of where I am and explained a few things to respond somewhat to Poul's post, and for those reading this forum who think that ALL of us have become "godless" people. Is not true. Faith is a beautiful thing for many, many, many people, faith in THE INVISIBLE ONE. Love God with all your hearth, first commendement, and then we got lost in the gurus lies of adoring him and KISSING HIS FEET! YUCK! AND STINKY, DIRTY FEET TOO....HOW DISGUSTING and demeaning, but no, I am not interested in preaching but just talking as other talk here about all kind of subjects, news that in my opinion DO belong in the other forum. Moderation. Silvia, who will never volunteer ever again to be abused, or open a post which the subject itself screams ABUSE. (Getting wiser.) Have a great day JHB!

I am entering a cloistered, contemplative Carmelite convent at the end of the summer, so I have no problem with your faith! I won't discuss mine here either, but JHB has my email address if anyone wants to write to me....

Good for you Annie! Look foward exchanging mail. Blessings.

I'm amazed, appalled, & impressed in equal measure, that you should still be climbing the Holy Mountain, but most of all impressed.
When you sit by Elijah's Fountain, put in a good word for me, just in case he's listening.
In return I'll remember you in accidental moments, which is the best an agnostic can do in the way of prayer.
|
|
|
and there is nothing more holy than humor in my eyes! I will pray for you until the cows come home, or at least until I go to my eternal rest.... ...and the accidental thoughts of an agnostic are like shining drops of dew on a rose garden, welcome for their beauty and refreshment. :> Thank you.

I am entering a cloistered, contemplative Carmelite convent at the end of the summer, so I have no problem with your faith! I won't discuss mine here either, but JHB has my email address if anyone wants to write to me.... I don't have a problem with religious/spiritual choices that people make post Maharaji. I'd have a very difficult time living in the world if I did have a "problem" with religious people. Just don't try to convert me, that's all, because I've been through a lot in the devotion and commitment department, I'm an adult and can make my own choices. So long as no one tries out their new spiritual righteousness (spiritual ego) on me, i.e., implies and actually tells me that I'm ignorant because I'm an atheist or has the unmitigated nerve to call me godless, (it's happened on the forum here) or tells me that they are a better person than me for having found their religion, and that I can't possibly know what devotion is really like, (well, duh), well, I'm fine with people's religious beliefs. Please, just don't tell me you're a better person than me because of your faith, is all I ask. Them's fightin' words. I hope you find happiness in the convent.
|
|

"I hope you find happiness in the convent. "Thanks Cynthia. I just want you to know that of course I consider myself spiritually superior to everyone here, and hope soon to be declared a saint! Hell, why stop there? Isn't it time someone took over in Heaven and cleaned up things here on earth? lol It sounds like you've had a lot of stupid people trying to tell you what to do. One of the things rawat did was make us all feel like we have to protect ourselves against spiritual brainwashing. I am simply picking up my life where it was headed before rawat told me the great lie! nothing more, nothing less. "peace be with you sister!" :>

TPRF has put out a Press Release (well after the event as usual !) trumpetting how they are the only humanitarian organisation to give out gifts to some of the world's richest people. In case anyone has forgotten here's what TPRF spent its charitable funds in for the Grammys -: luxury gift sets to all the stars, including jewelry, a Swarovski-encrusted T-shirt and book written by the foundation’s namesake, Prem Rawat. http://www.prnewswire.com/ Academy Awards Gift Baskets Include 'Peace is Possible' Biography of Prem Rawat |
|
| | |
| LOS ANGELES, March 9 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- All nominees who did
not win an Oscar received an "Everyone Wins at the Awards" gift basket from
the Distinctive Assets organization.
Within this basket was the book "Peace Is Possible," a biography of
Prem Rawat by best-selling author Andrea Cagan, as well as materials about
The Prem Rawat Foundation's humanitarian initiatives. Each Oscar gift
basket also contained gifts from such companies as Twentieth Century Fox
Entertainment, Celebrity Jets, Gibson Guitars, Caesars Palace, and more.
The same gift bags were also given to representatives of the media covering
the Oscars, including MTV.com, MSNBC, People.com, Forbes.com, FOX News
Edge, Agence France Press, and many more.
For Linda Pascotto, president of The Prem Rawat Foundation, "It is an
honor for the Foundation to be the only humanitarian organization whose
products are offered in these gift baskets at the Oscars. This shows the
interest of the entertainment community in the scope and breadth of our
humanitarian initiatives. A few weeks ago, the Foundation was the only
humanitarian organization at the Grammy backstage lounge, and we were able
to present our initiatives to the nominees, performers, and entertainers.
Many of them were glad to autograph T-shirts, which are now being auctioned
to support our food aid initiative in a tribal area in northern India.
"Since the Grammys, we have received numerous offers of support from
performers who had become familiar with the efforts of the Foundation. We
also are pleased to see that the book 'Peace Is Possible,' which a few
weeks ago was #9 on Amazon.com, is receiving such a warm welcome in the
entertainment community. Several musicians came back asking us for a second
copy of the book."
The Academy Awards, also known as the Oscars, is the most prominent and
most watched film awards ceremony in the world. Awarded annually by the
Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences since 1929 in Los Angeles, the
Oscars recognize excellence in many aspects of motion picture making, such
as acting, directing, and screenwriting.
The Prem Rawat Foundation is a non-profit charitable organization. The
Foundation brings food and water to people most in need around the world
and helps advance the message of peace of Prem Rawat, known worldwide as
Maharaji.
|
|
TPRF doesn't exist to provide people with food and water. It exists to further the illusion that Prem Rawat cares about anyone but himself. This is the stated purpose of TPRF: The Prem Rawat Foundation is dedicated to advancing the lectures, speeches, writings, art, music, humanitarian efforts, and public forums of Prem Rawat. Plus, genuine humanitarian organizations don't have to give out swag at the Oscars or the Emmys. Where's their annual report, btw?

The richer the better. Just look in the front row seats at "events" and you will find them. Also, they could attend one of those "darshan-for-sale-to-rich-people-who-give-Rawat-money" events.
|
|
|
I was thinking about that just today and had to stop because it gave me a queazy feeling. I remember well, back in the late 70s who got the most attention from Rawat. They were the ones who were the best dressed (wearing silks, but not saris) walking around with their noses up in the air. No ashram premie could ever compete with that (unless they had turned over a large trust fund!).
|
|
|
I think it really was ALL about the potential money. If the ashram premie turned over a bit trust fund maybe lots of attention prior to turning it over, but once it was done...and irrevokable...still attention? I bet not? Not unless the said premie had an alive and rich parent who might die.
