Rooting around, I came across this quote of Mt Rawat:

Now just imagine, I have a
following of six million people; and whatever I tell them, they are
going to do that.  And among those six million people there are millions
of people who are criminals.  They have murdered people, they have
committed many crimes. They have been to jail and they know what it's
like.  And if I tell them
now they would do it.  They
would murder anyone off the street.

That is a very hign proportion of murderers amongst the premies. I hadn't realised I was in quite such dangerous company. You could question the numbers, but Mr Rawat goes on to say:

You
see –here I want to be very frank –people come to me and ask me about
this, and they say, “What is your opinion about a Perfect Master? Is
there one, is there two?” I tell them my opinion that there is only one
Perfect Master. Because perfectness, is one, not two, not three. So
there is only one Perfect Master in this world. And because he is
perfect, that’s it. He is perfect. You just can’t divide perfect.

And of course, the Perfect Master is the one who has handed out Knowledge to 6 million people, which must mean him. So I don't think he can have got it wrong.

Watch out you critics!

Hi 13

I would put it that the thinking behind Rawatism has the same seeds of danger as any other belief-system where you give away all your authority and power to a 'higher power in person', and so abnegate your own responsibility for your own integrity.

But while the potential may be there (think 'Jonestown'), in practice as far as I know bunches of premies have not flown planes into New York skyscrapers or blown themselves up as suicide bombers etc.

So I don't see EV as that dangerous. In fact, the biggest danger from Rawatism is and was our own acceptance of it. No one had a gun to my head to make me believe he was the Lord of the Universe. But Al-Qaeda would not think twice about putting a gun to my head, nor pulling the trigger.

Your analogy holds for the seed or potential, but not I think for the current reality.

I was just joking Mike! It made me laugh when I read it, so I posted the link. I thought the notion of M having millions of criminal devotees ready to do whatever he says pretty funny.

I don't actually think EV is dangerous at all - just deranged.

Now can you really imagine maharaji living an austere life on the run from cave to cave in the bleak Himalayas He would be spotted from space with his gold plated boulder to s*it behind.
