I agree that could be a subconcious motivation. I think I will post a sap response now. I know those issues.....they were huge for me when I left the guru.  The evening ( for me) Gok made that post he was clearly evading some strong questions about the divinity claims of the guru; it was transparent, and annoying to see the new thread. If you look below, I made a very personal post about my "journey" from being a premie to an ex in response to his question about my exhood which he did not comment on, nor answer the questions which Jim had put to him, and I did to, about the Guru claiming to be "God" incarnate on earth, and then many years and much damage later saying "never mind I am proud to be human". It, as I am sure you know, is somewhat infuriating when premies deny reality, we were there, so were they, and we KNOW they know the truth of what Prem Rawat wanted everyone to believe about him and do for him. He never did anything to dissuade anyone of the notion he was "the Superior Power in Person" in fact he actively encouraged it, as is well documented on ex-premie.org. This issue is so central to the experience so many of us had as cult members; we know that as we talk to someone in the cult it is really important to try to get them to actually think logically about this issue, and admit the truth of it. It appeared that GOK started this thread so he would not have to keep looking at, and twisting out of, the obvious. Being a cult apologist is a hard postion. Thus the apparent insensitivity. However, you are right, his choice of a distraction is fascinating. It is as if his authentic self is screaming, is it safe after you leave the cult? How do you feel? Can you be happy? Can you be fufilled? Will I be okay? The answers are all yes of course. So yes, if the real GOK is in there trying to get free we should answer.
