I so love the "imaginary friend" thing. It is true that humans want there to be this imaginary friend called God who can listen and respond to prayers. But this imaginary friend must never get mad at us or betray us like a human friend might do - so it has to be divine! LOL - Bill Maher is so right - it is all so childish. So many just can't accept our "aloneness" in this universe - it is way too scary for most people - so all these religions pop up to make people feel connected to something greater - a divine "Mom or Dad".
One of the reasons that premies can't let go of Rawat is that it means accepting responsibility for their own lives - and not putting it all onto him any more.
Funny that his meditation doesn't take away the fear of being alone in the universe.....
It is a great freedom to feel that it just doesn't matter what the "answer" is... living the duality is ok - it's the way it is, and that's ok too!
