Sorry San, I wrote the above post before I'd read your link below to the group you were with before you got into GMJ.

See, when you said that you'd been in a monastery I sorta assumed that meant you'd been a Benedictine Novice or something, in which case you would certainly understand what 'Ultramontanism' means.  However, I now realise that you were just a member of another Mickey Mouse, Southern California, DIY religion...........too bad.

What are those connections you are trying to get your head around?

Well, Geaves & others (that's members of other cults) seem to have latched onto this org called CESNUR run by a man called Massimo Introvigne, who was/is a member of a group called TFP, which has morphed (maybe) into another group called Alleanza Cattolica, which isn't looked on with much favour in the Vatican.  Consequently Introvigne, having started out defending his oddball crew of superstitious monarchists by invoking arguments to do with freedom of expression, has ended up supporting such weirdo people as practising vampires.

The TFP group is originally Brazilian & was founded on the ideas of P. etc de Oleivera, a man with an altogether different take on the modern world than your average Californian beach bum, & who ironically would likely have had Rawat chucked out of a helicopter, should their paths have ever crossed.

So now you know as much as I do.  Good luck with the speculations (lol)
