Hi All,

There's been much discussion in the EV FAQs (and here about the FAQs -- also on the Wiki discussions) about the so-called Indian "trappings" that supposedly were the whole basis upon what attracted  "hippies" to follow Rawat back in earlier days.  This is explained by EV as a big reason for our "misunderstanding" of Rawat and Knowledge, in terms of our huge mistake for thinking/believing he was the LOTU.  It's all propaganda, but I wonder about his keeping the name "Maharaji."

When Rawat took the "Guru" out of "Maharaji" why didn't he also get rid of the Maharaji part too?  I mean really, maharaji is a common term in India but it still means great king or greater than king, or something to that effect, right?  What purpose would it serve in the western countries, other than to further confuse westerners?

Just curious...
