Thanks for adding to the story. What I find so very interesting about the article is just how the outside world viewed the Rawat world: "well heeled followers" - who exposed the public to unacceptable danger.
The 'Chiswick' engineer's story raises many questions about the 'service hierarchy' that are pertinent to todays Elan Vital. Although no European or US events could be run with such risks to the public, the situation in India is far more questionable and it must be of real concern that in the closed environment of Amaroo the safety culture may be shaped by the same neglect and arrogance. Additionally the persecution of John MacGregor has all the hallmarks of the 'service hierarchy' that exposed numbers of people to death and maiming in Rome.
