We also have a sacrosaint precept: freedom of thought.
It's in our constitution.
As well as freedom of association.
That means that you can create any group of any kind, with virtually any belief, as long as you don't commit any crime.

What's special about cults in France in that new law, is that if there are crimes commited by cults, the authors will be prosecuted and condemned, but the cult will be closed by that new law (was not possible before).
