Read Donner's letter to Maharaji written in 1987. At the time he ceased to be a devotee he was a part-time instructor. This wasn't a paid position, so there would have been no formal resignation or dismissal. It appears he left full-time employment in 1984 but the fact that he was an instructor afterwards indicates there was no illwill.
