What a gorgeous track eh. One of the best moments of my life was when he played that out at the Big Chill festival about 7 years ago. Beautiful sunny day, peacocks wandering through the crowd, parrots swooping overhead, the vibe in the crowd was unbelievably sweet, scruff was 'in the zone', EVERYONE was dancing, and I had a moment during the set where I was so overcome that I flashed back to premie days, and thought how I would have died for something so open, democratic, never seen so many genuine smiles and friendliness, just a complete moment. And then he dropped Get a Move on, well I've never experienced an energy wave like it, the place went ballistic, much more than those moments when gm appeared onstage believe me After the weekend it got me thinking to weekend festivals with gm, and how tight and emotionally self censuring they'd become. And then I got really embarrassed thinking back to how arrogant I was to think that only premies could reach such a sweet spot, and just how much more I had to learn about how people all have access to those special moments, and remember this was ten years after acid house kicked in, so it wasn't a freshness thing. Had it at a brazilian house night in london recently too, 17 years after it arrived, then I thought back to the energy differences between gm festivals of 73 compared to 90, scary really. Ah well at least we woke up and took off the comfort bubble blanket to smell the coffee
