The promise is to "keep in touch" not to "come to my events" which is in a separate sentence. It is a further recommendation not a "promise".

There are many people who are physically or financially unable to see Maharaji live. Most of Africa is a case in point and so is mainland China, where Maharaji is unable to go and they are unlikely to be able to leave.

Why is it that you never think things through? It is blindingly obvious that Maharaji would make people promise to see him live when he knows that many cannot.
