I found your two posts really interesting and I for one did get the joke at the end. There is another person who posts here, premie spouse, who is more or less in the same position, but isn't quite so non-chalant about her attitude. I suppose it is because her premie husband is more gung ho than yours.

You can feel lucky that you belong to the subset of humans who are "open but not gullible". That is a great place to be. At this middle age stage of my life I consider myself to be included in that subset as well. Unfortunately most of us fell for the Rawat scam when we were very young, in my case 15. Teenagers with all their bubbling enthusiasm and incomplete personas make easy prey for carpetbaggers and nonsense of all ilks. Prem Rawat continues to this day to target young people.

I don't have any anger or sadness in me about my involvement. I know my life would have been drastically different had I not gotten involved, but I can't say it would have been better. Nor do I have any problem with those who continue to follow Malibu Prem. Mazeltov!

My own participation in this forum, and I believe this is true of many others here, and also the purpose of websites like EPO and PRMI is to provide the information for people to make an informed choice to continue their involvment or to make the commitment to join up in the first place if they are just hearing about it. I wish this information had been available to me when I was 15.

In addition, this forum offers a place for people who are leaving Rawat to work out their feelings and find a new perspective for themselves. Most people do go through a period of anger and sadness. I would liken it to finding out that your spouse has been cheating on you. Part of coming to terms with it is often how you ignored the signs all those years because you gave the person you loved the benefit of the doubt. I think that is true of all followers of Rawat. Then one day something cracks the ice and all that icey water comes splashing on your face. Finally you can see for the first time with a clear head the real ramifications behind all of the irritants that you have been justifying away earlier.

One of the most dazzlng things to see on this forum is how premies will perform the most mind-boggling acrobatic feats of pretzel logic to attempt to justify things that just can't be justified.
